The Secret Place

Psalms   91:1   (NKJV) - “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”   How do we stay unfazed and unworried in a world full of chaos and uncertainty? We are now in the tenth month of the year 2020 and it truly has been a year of shockers. At the beginning of this pandemic, the entire chapter of Psalm 91 was a safe haven for most of us. We recited it, prayed with it and meditated on it because we wanted to be in the secret place where there is protection. Normalcy is resuming and the fear is almost nonexistent. Eventually, we are going to shelve this scripture back into a box and only pick it up when trouble looms.   But the secret place is not only a safe haven of protection from the enemy. This statement by David in the Bible paints a picturesque view of how the secret place is. He uses the words; He who “dwells” (perpetually remains) in the secret place shall (certainly/assuredly) abide in the shadow of ...

Stay At Your Post

Habakkuk 2:1  I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guard post. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how He (I AM) will answer my complaint (NLT) (I will wait and learn how He answers my questions (ERV)   It is easy to grow weary in service. It doesn’t matter where; school, church, work or your own business. We all come to the point where we feel like we’ve run out of “gas” and we can’t seem to find the motivation to do the things we would otherwise do without thinking. Sometimes, the discouragement is a reaction to people and circumstances; issues of offense and hurt, and of course, a seeming lack of vision for the next move. Tired bones and a drained body are a part of every soldier’s life. It surely is much harder to serve when you observe some wrongs or norms that don’t agree with you. It is also hard to serve when you have strayed or fallen back, when your shortcomings are out in the open and you feel judged. How about when your own little fox...

The Fallacy of Self-Love

2  Corinthians   2:11   NKJV -  “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”   I’m an avid lover of action thriller movies especially those with kick-ass female leads .   So ,  when the movie “The Old Guard”  came  out starring Charlize Theron as lead, I was all pumped up and excited.   Now if you’ve watched this movie on Netflix, without having had a preview of the trailer, I’m pretty sure the scene where you realised these warriors were immortal (they were ambushed and shot to death and got up after healing instantly 🙀 ) had you “shook”. What struck me most about these group of immortal warriors was not just the state of immortality, but how through the centuries they had learnt all the arts of war and knew every thing about every part of the world. There’s this striking scene where Charlize who is called Andromache of Scythia (The oldest in the team and over 6000 years old) singl...
