Hey there!


Welcome to our blog! It’s exciting for us to put our thoughts to paper (or really to the cloud) and just have to share with everyone. We understand that there is a lot of content out there and this is another addition to all of that, but!! You’re in for an exciting read every time! 

Before anything, who are we and what is this blog all about?


There are two writers on this blog; Becky and Sharon. Two friends, becoming sisters over the years and for people who know us, two peas in a pod. We are both Christian and everything we post here is to influence thought patterns with the principles of Christ. The writing styles do differ though; Becky is a more poignant writer, hitting the nail right on the head, mic drops and leaves (she’s very serious, trust me, you’ll know when she writes) and Sharon is quite the artistic conversationalist. The distinction does not matter though; we just want you to be informed, encouraged and edified (as well as entertained). 


Why the name “Light It Up”? 


In this ever- evolving world around us, it is important to examine everything in light of Scripture. One thing we know for sure is that the Word of God is consistent and relevant in every generation, including ours. We want to discuss relevant topics in light of the never- changing Word of God. Because He is the true light, we’re “lighting it up” because God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.. Amen? Amen!

Also, we’ll have creative pieces here from time to time, some scripture studies and all things Christian okay! Just jump right in like you did this time and let’s journey together.

 Stop Flirting with the Devil. You know how it is when a new year begins and you start writing out all your new year resolutions with full vim. Although we both know it's probably the same thing you keep writing year after year but let's leave that for another day. So this year, "with my full chest", I was writing out my new year resolutions  and I always start off with my spiritual growth. So I began by scheduling fasting days, increasing the number of hours for my quiet time etc and then I was like “oh I don't have enough time in a day”. One mission statement that our church, International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) has come to be known for, is “Practical Christianity, Human dignity and Excellence”.
